The founder
I started as an LPN. Now I audit for payers.
My path ran from the bedside into medical coding, then risk adjustment, outpatient CDI, inpatient CDI and DRG validation. Today I review claims on the payer side for Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and commercial plans.
I started The Coding Nurse® in 2020 to teach what the reviewer sees: the documentation that holds up, the codes that don't, and the clinical read that tells them apart.
Coders learn to defend the code. Providers learn to write notes that defend themselves. Practices learn where the money is leaking.
